Privacy policy
Effective October 27, 2026. SkinAlly is made by Histamine Health LLC, Missouri, USA.
The short version
You don’t create an account. We don’t run ads, use analytics or tracking, or sell or share your information. Your allergens and the products you check stay on your device, and we can’t see them.
Information stored only on your device
- Your patch test allergens, and those of any family members you add.
- Products you save, products you’ve checked recently, and your settings.
- For clinicians, the practice name you type for printed sheets.
This information is never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.
When the app uses the internet
- Barcode lookups. When you scan a barcode we don’t have, the barcode number is sent to Open Beauty Facts, Open Food Facts and Open Products Facts, public product databases, to look up the product’s ingredients.
- Product photos load from Open Beauty Facts’ servers.
- Product data updates download from our data server, hosted by GitHub. The request doesn’t include anything about you.
- Store links (“Where to buy”) open the store’s website in your browser. Some links include our affiliate code, which lets the store pay us a commission. The store’s own privacy policy applies there.
None of these requests include your name, your allergens or your health information. Like any web server, these services may log your device’s IP address under their own privacy policies.
Clinician codes
A clinician’s QR code contains only a list of allergens: no names, dates or record numbers. Scanning it adds those allergens on your device. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere.
Camera
The camera is used only to read barcodes and clinician QR codes. Nothing is recorded or saved.
Children
The app is intended for adults, and for parents or caregivers managing a child’s allergies. It is not directed to children under 13.
Not a medical record
We are not your healthcare provider, and the app is not part of your medical record. Because your information never reaches us, we cannot recover it if your device is lost.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
